What's included in the set?
The set includes the spreader bar hammock in hard-wearing outdoor fabric and the Maera stand – along with all parts and illustrated setup instructions.
Do I need trees or wall hooks?
No. The set is complete – set up the stand, hook in the hammock, done. No wall, no tree needed.
Is the hammock suitable for outdoor use?
Yes – the polypropylene fabric is designed specifically for permanent use outdoors. In windy conditions we recommend taking the hammock down – otherwise the stand can tip over.
How long does setup take?
Around 15–30 minutes. The necessary tools are included, along with illustrated instructions.
Can I wash the hammock?
Wash the spreader bar hammock by hand, using lukewarm water and a mild detergent.
How much weight does the set hold?
The Double Size set holds up to 355 lbs. Please observe the stated maximum.
Can I use the Maera stand with other hammocks too?
The hammock is already included in this set – but the Maera stand itself fits all Double Size hammocks, with or without a spreader bar.
What does the spreader bar do for me?
The spreader bar keeps the hammock permanently open – making it easier to get in and creating a wide, relaxed lying surface. Without a spreader bar, the cloth molds more closely around the body.
Is the set available with a different type of stand?
Yes. The same spreader bar hammock is also available in the Nautico Outdoor R set in robust galvanized steel – whichever suits your taste and your space.
Is this spreader bar hammock also suitable for families with kids?
For families with kids we tend to recommend hammocks without a spreader bar – they're more stable against tipping. The Maera Outdoor set is particularly well suited to this.
